Clinton Township, MIInsurance & FinanceLending & pawn
Family-owned pawnbroker in Clinton Township since 1991, offering 90-day collateral loans, auto pawn, gold buying, jewelry and resale merchandise.
The Cash Exchange is a family-owned pawnbroker in Clinton Township. Peter Thomas opened it in 1991 with $400 borrowed from his brother James, and it has grown into a multi-location business. At its core is collateral lending: bring in something of value, leave with cash, and take up to 90 days to repay and collect it. Loans are based on the item's value, not credit.
The Cash Exchange AutoPawn on Groesbeck Highway lends against cars, trucks, motorcycles, ATVs, RVs, boats, jet skis, snowmobiles and construction equipment, kept in a climate-controlled warehouse for the length of the loan. A seasonal pawn doubles as secure storage: a motorcycle or watercraft over winter, a snowmobile over summer. The AutoPawn sells vehicles and equipment too.
The store buys gold, diamonds, jewelry, watches, instruments, motorcycles and ATVs outright, and Macomb Daily readers voted it Macomb County's best place to sell gold every year from 2021 to 2025. The showroom sells new and gently used tools, electronics, instruments, jewelry and hunting gear, with new stock daily and lay-away on jewelry, merchandise and vehicles. An in-store eBay shop sells items on consignment for people who'd rather not list them themselves.
A full-service jewelry store inside the Gratiot location, with a full-time jeweler and gemologist for repairs, custom pieces, ring sizing, watch batteries and appraisals, and a counter of engagement rings, diamonds and gold jewelry.
